- Acupressure This involves the application of finger pressure on points where it is believed that our life force or energy comes to
- the surface of the body. These points are the same ones used
- in acupuncture.
- One acupressure technique you can use to create
- deep relaxation is to interweave your fingers and
- place them over your solar plexus, which is found
- in the center of your body just below the
- breastbone. Then sit back and quietly relax.
- Experience the feeling that you have—a sense
- of calm or sedation. You will soon be in a
- very relaxed state.
- You might ask a friend or family member
- to sit at your feet. Have them put a hand
- under each calf, spreading their fingers. Have
- them sit there with their hands under your
- calves for about 15 minutes. This too will
- put you in a deeply relaxed state.
